Alissa invited me to tag along with her and her daughter at Flamingo Gardens.
Flamingo Gardens is located near Fort Lauderdale. It is a botanical garden and animal sanctuary established in 1927. You can walk around the property to see 3,000 species of rare & exotic, tropical, subtropical, and native plants and trees. It also houses permanently injured or non-releasable Florida native wildlife. These include alligators, bobcats, eagles, otters, panthers, flamingos, and free roaming peacocks. You can also ride the tram for a tour of the backlot. It’s free with your admission.
I didn’t take too many photos of the wildlife or trees. I did snap away at the flamingos but you’ll see few made the cut. Did they make the cut because flamingo or because Alissa makes an appearance?
Although I feel awkward photographing people, Alissa continues to be a wonderful model for my practice. I am looking forward to taking a portraits class. In the meantime, I guess I can keep taking photos of Alissa. She is easy on the eyes and very photogenic which makes me look great at taking photos.
