The 7th day on the 10-Day Alaska Cruise took me to Sitka, Alaska.

I had the Sitka Pedal Pub excursion scheduled for the afternoon so took the morning to wander around town. Sitka was picturesque. Just like all of the places I visited on this cruise. I loved how the main street drove straight towards the mountains. I grabbed a coffee at Highliner Coffee while I filled out the postcards to send back home.

We had to shuttle from the cruise port into town which was a bit of a pain. However, the shuttles were running every few minutes. Meaning, I had to shuttle back to the cruise port to meet the Pedal Pub only to then get shuttled back right back to town. The excursion should have had a secondary meeting point at the shuttle terminal.

Now onto the Pedal Pub. Not at all what I expected. I was thinking it was a bar on wheels which would have a motor. Nope. It was a 12 or 15 seater bike. Pedaling was awful especially when two guys weren’t and when we encountered hills. Additionally, it wasn’t much of a pub crawl. We had one shot at the first pub. Then cash bar at the second. And the third was a couple of ounces to taste about 3 or 4 beers. After the last pub, I made my way back to the terminal.

My favorite photo from Sitka would be this one of two eagles flying around their nest. It could be a postcard! The eagles may not be easy to spot but they are there.
